The Center for Interfaith Relations joins our community in mourning the passing of Mary Frances Kelty, the namesake for the Kelty Endowed Organ Recital Series.

Mary Frances, 93, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Beehive Assisted Living Home in Georgetown, Indiana.

She was born in Fredericksburg, Kentucky, and was a Catholic by faith. Mary Frances was a retired bookkeeper for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, with over 40 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, William Theodore Kelty.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Paul D. Kelty (Debbie), who sponsors the Kelty Endowed Organ Recital Series. The series has provided exceptional performances by both national and international organists at no cost to the Louisville community for the past 10 years.

Other survivors include three grandsons, Chris, Michael and Donnie, and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Frances’ funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 21, at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 S. 5th St., Louisville, with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is Thursday, September, 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
