This week’s #WisdomWednesday features New Roots assistant director Amber Burns discussing how food justice issues have impacted the resiliency of Louisville’s West End communities. “People look at us—they see the low income; they see the lack of grocery stores and they assume that we need saving,” she said during the 2016 Festival of Faiths. Once we stop assuming these families “need saving,” she added, we can get closer to achieving a just and sustainable food system.
