Festival of Faiths Executive Director Dr. Kathleen Lyons will be among the presenters at the Pisgah Academy Day, which will take place Saturday, February 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church (710 Pisgah Road, Versailles, KY 40383).

“Sacred Fire: Building a Compassionate Community” will address what defines a compassionate community, the “Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life” written by Charter for Compassion co-author Karen Armstrong as well as discussions and insights on how Lexington, Versailles and Midway can become designated compassionate cities in Kentucky.

Spalding University President Tori Murden McClure will be the keynote speaker for the event. Dr. Lyons will be joined by Compassionate Louisville Representative Tom Williams for a panel discussion following the keynote address. The day will conclude with a “Call to Action Workshop” lead by Rev. Pete Jones from the Pisgah Presbyterian Church.
