During the 2016 Festival of Faiths, Imam Zaid Shakir quoted the Arabic proverb: “Someone lacking something can’t give it to others.” We cannot expect individuals and institutions to change what they lack. We must better educate ourselves and others to change the dialogue, so that we can build a healthier and stronger society.
